Director’s Note
Welcome to the Women in the Environment website! Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. I hope that we can intrigue you enough to join us and once you join that you get involved and help us make this an effective and exciting tool for women working in environmental fields. Our goal is to create a "special club" where you can expand your professional network, act as a mentor, seek assistance when you need it, and find specialized contractors and consultants like you.
Our networking sessions continue to be an awesome success. Our last event in West Palm Beach, FL drew more than 100 participants. Please see our new section highlighting our previous panelists – true women of distinction.
We know first-hand how hard it is to be successful professionally and balance the day to day challenges that we all face. Let us help you be the best you can be! Whether or not you become a member, we hope you join us for our networking events, in Florida and around the country. If you do join us, you will have access to mentors and contacts throughout our profession, a blog for casual and helpful information exchange, job opportunity information and statistics, resources that can help you succeed and much, much more.
I welcome your input and look forward to getting to know you better and working with you in the future!
Warmest regard,
Melissa L. Meeker has 15 years experience in environmental protection with over 10 years supervisory, facilitation and training experience, as well as public and private experience. Melissa is a Governor Charlie Crist appointee to the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board and manager of her own water resource planning consulting firm, Hesperides Group, LLC and was the originator of and now Director of Women in the Environment.
